Doug is hand-made by women who are associated with Chetana Vikas - an amazing non-government organisation (NGO) that works on women empowerment and sustainable agriculture.

Scroll down to meet the women as well as the Chetana Vikas team (they're some of the most inspiring people we know!)

Meet the women who make your Doug & match the patterns on their profiles with the back of your Doug cardboard tag.

FYI, each village shares a pattern as the women often collaborate and work together to make the Dougs.

Vandana and her husband have been involved with Chetana Vikas for a very long time. He is a farmer manager and she's a cook. She became a member of the organisation 17 years ago. With the extra income from Doug, she supports her family and also feels like she receives more support from them too, for example in terms of housework. Seeing her kids moving ahead in life makes her very happy.

Surekha is the mom of two daughters and a son. She is the Federation Secretary for Chetana Vikas, is a tailor, runs a stationery and a clothes shop too. She is also active in social work and helps widows of the farming community. She is also a member of the village government ("panchayat").  She single-handedly started an alcohol-ban group in her village! No wonder that her nickname is "Superwoman"! She enjoys seeing students coming from other countries for the Doug program and learning and exchanging knowledge with them.
